Aalborg invests in ballast water treatment

Aalborg Industries and German-owned Aquaworx have signed a joint venture agreement for the development and marketing of ballast water treatment systems. Aquaworx is owned by German-listed company PlasmaSelect and has a well-functioning and patented technology which, until now, has been applied to water treatment in land-based plants. Now that Aalborg Industries is a partner the water treatment systems from Aquaworx will be further developed for maritime applications and marketed in close cooperation with the Aalborg Industries Group.
