Wind farm support market experiences growth

The offshore wind farm support and service vessel market has been experiencing a remarkable growth in recent years thanks to increased European funding in renewable energy development.rnHorns Rev II, currently the world's largest offshore wind farm in operation, has recently welcomed a 32m wind farm service vessel (WFSV) from Danish shipyard Hvide Sande Skibs & Baadeby-ggeri for its operator Dong Energy. Other wind farm operators have ordered WFSVs recently including Vattenfall, the owner of Thanet Offshore Wind Farm. Vattenfall placed an order with UK-based South Boats Special Projects for a WFSV and the vessel, Offshore Performer, began operations in March 2010.
