Steel tug launched for British Columbia coast

British Columbia (BC), Canada-based builder ABD Boats has launched a new steel, Z-drive tug, SST Salish, for compatriot operator Saam Smit Towage Canada. The vessel has a length of 22m, a breadth of 10.7m and a depth of 6.2m, and is powered by a pair of MTU 16V4000M61 diesels, generating 1,998.5kW apiece, coupled to Rolls-Royce US20 FP Z-drives. This arrangement grants SST Salish a bollard pull equal to 65tonnes.
