Estonia's Baltic Workboats has won the contract to design and construct a new multifunction patrol boat, intended for domestic deployment by the country's Police and Border Guard Board. The vessel, which is set to measure between 42-45m in length, will primarily be tasked with counter-pollution, offshore patrol, search and rescue (SAR), firefighting and hydrographic missions. Designed to accommodate up to 18 crew members in total, the vessel will be powered by a pair of MTU 16V4000 engines, enabling a top speed of 25knots. Baltic Workboats estimates that the boat will enjoy a range of 2,500nm when operating at between 10-16knots.
