Fischer Panda launches Electric Pod Motor

Fischer Panda has launched its compact, low-speed Electric Pod Motor, developed for small commercial and fishing boats and USVs, and for applications where manoeuvrability trumps high speed as a priority. The water-cooled, brushless motor comes in two versions: a 1.7kW pod, rated 2,300rpm (24V), and a 3.8kW pod, rated 3,000rpm (48V) - the intention being to grant the customer a degree of flexibility when selecting battery set-ups. The motor is located under the boat's hull, and is protected by a watertight, stainless steel housing. Although the unit can be rotatably mounted, brackets can be supplied should the operator wish to deploy the motor as an outboard.
