Situated in Samut Prakan, a small, coastal Thai province located to the south of Bangkok, Marsun Company Limited is close to reaching its fortieth anniversary in the boatbuilding business. Established in 1980, Marsun has evolved into a thriving boat factory, specialising in the production of patrol and assault boats, landing craft, workboats and crewboats at its 51,000m~2 Marsun Shipyard facility. Despite high demand from the naval and police sectors, the yard has also found time to delve into the creation of other vessel types: for instance, dinghies, marine ecology research vessels and even a sailing schooner for a private owner. For the most part, though, national agencies such as the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, Department of Fisheries, Customs Department and Royal Thai Police comprise the main bulk of Marsun's customer base, while overseas orders from Pakistan and Gabon have provided extra, welcome revenue streams.
