Visible light perovskite-coated photonic crystal surface-emitter on SOI

摘要

The hybridization of active and passive platforms has always been the headache of silicon photonic integrated circuits. All-inorganic metal-halide perovskites (CsPbX3) are considered as promising materials for the next-generation optical application. Here, we demonstrate a perovskite-coated photonic crystal surface-emitter on silicon-on-insulator for the visible range. Owing to the absorption of silicon, heat will discount the performance of the emitter. The low-temperature experiments fail to overcome this obstacle. Even so, ASE is observed when the device is pumped by a 400 nm femtosecond laser at room temperature. Our experiments prove that the perovskite is promising in silicon photonic integrated circuits in visible range.
