In prior issues of the SRLJ1 the 1MDB case2 has been discussed. It has also been pointed out that the central figure in the scandal involving 1MDB has been and is now, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak ("Najib"). Also discussed was the role of the U.S. Department of Justice ("DOJ") in the 1MDB case and in exposing the alleged violations of law by Najib and other persons included in the alleged "looting" of the 1MDB sovereign wealth fund. In this article, the downfall of Najib and some of the other recent developments in the 1MDB case are discussed. One of these developments is the impact of the 1MDB scandal on several countries in addition to Malaysia. Another is that the 1MDB scandal appears to be expanding in size and scope, and may turn out to be "one of the biggest financial frauds in history."
