IHC nears completion of mega pipelay vessel order

With launch of the Sapura Jade, Royal IHC is more than two thirds of the way through its mega order for pipe laying vessels (PLVs) consisting of 10 units for offshore contractors Subsea 7 and Seabras Sapura. The orders, with a combined value of almost $2bn, have all been placed since December 2011. At the IHC Marine & Offshore yard in Krimpen in the Netherlands, some 1,000 employees have been working around the clock in shifts to ensure a new PLV leaves the yard ever four-and-a-half months.
