I'm the daughter of a retired Navy senior chief petty officer, indoctrinated early to military life as our family moved routinely from California to Japan. It was a combination of his model and my mother's dedication that pushed me toward Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps, the University of San Diego and ultimately my commission in 2000. What they say about the difference love and support can make in a person's life rings true when I think of my parents. I started my Navy career as a surface warfare officer and transitioned to cryptology and the information warfare [IW] community in 2005. The present day finds me married to the best guy in the world and in command at Information Warfare Training Command [IWTC] Monterey since July last year.
