摘要

These days, that doesn't mean getting a big, new, expensive, flashy platform, it just means doing more with what you have. The Navy is about to take a big step in that direction with a concept known as Battle Management Aid (BMA), which reportedly soon will be tested aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). BMA is an attempt to take sensors and weapons and link them up better over the network. The Navy made a similar effort recently with the Navy Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air network, and now it's experimenting with BMA on a carrier as a way to connect the air and surface communities to provide a complete picture for naval flight officers.
