Catamaran Makes a Mark in Support of Marine Missions

A former commercial ferry catamaran modified for Military Sealift Command (MSC) is supporting the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific. The 1,646-ton highspeed transport USNS Guam (T-HST 1), the former Hawaiian Superferry Huakai that was acquired by MSC in 2012, has replaced the long-serving leased highspeed vessel Westpac Express.
