Three European Shipbuilding Giants Acquire Smaller Yards

Three of Europe's premier shipbuilders - Damen Shipyards Group, Lurssen Werft and Fincan-tieri - have expanded their capabilities by acquiring smaller shipyards to fill niches in their service lines. Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands has acquired the French firm Arno Dunkerque, which is capable of building and maintaining many types of vessels or projects in the maritime and offshore fields. Arno's core business focuses on roll-on/roll-offs, ferries, tankers and cruise ships.
