The Norfolk Ship Support Activity detachment in Bahrain does periodic ship maintenance in the U.S. Fifth Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), while Ship Support Unit Bahrain is responsible for fixing Military Sealift Command ships in the AOR. 1.
