The BGM/UGM-109 Tomahawk all-weather, long-range, subsonic land-attack cruise missile (TLAM), developed by Raytheon Missile Co., is in its fourth decade of service. More than 2,000 have been fired in combat. The Block Ⅲ version, introduced in 1996, remains in service but no longer is being recertified and will be retired by 2020. The current version, the BGM/UGM-109E Block Ⅳ Tactical Tomahawk, entered service in 2004 and is being upgraded. Raytheon is developing sensor and warhead enhancements.
