My Week 'Aboard' Mystic Seaport's Charles W. Morgan

For one of the few times in the history of Mystic Seaport, their flagship vessel, the famous whaling ship Charles W. Morgan, is high and dry "on the hard." The Morgan is currently in the museum's drydock undergoing a five-year, $ 10-million restoration that will return this, the only remaining wooden whaling ship in the world, back to a seaworthy and sailable condition by the summer of 2014. At the helm of the museum's Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard and overseer of the restoration, is Quentin Snediker, a fellow alumnus of SUNY Maritime College.
