The Changing Picture of Volatiles and Climate on Mars

The behavior of water and other volatiles, such as carbon dioxide, is central to the questions that we are asking today about Mars' climate evolution and biological potential. Results from three spacecraft currently operating at Mars (Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, and Mars Express), as well as from the continuing Spirit and Opportunity rover missions, have been changing our views in fundamental ways.
