Responsibilities: The Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies provides a unified voice for graduate education and research on the Lawrence Campus. The VPR&GS reports to the Provost and works closely with the Chancellor and the Provost in the development and implementation of the university's research and scholarly mission and provides counsel on research-related and graduate education issues. The VPR&GS works closely with the Associate Vice Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies to ensure vigorous recruitment of competitive graduate students and that the graduate experience provides opportunities for active participation in research and individual scholarship. The VPR&GS is responsible for the administration of the University's budget for research and research infrastructure.
