摘要

With this document, we would like to correct our computations of the annual water demand for several water demand categories. The correction is required because of an error that occurred during the spatial aggregation from political to hydrological units. Instead of only considering the parts of the political units lying within a certain hydrological unit, we erroneously considered the whole units, which led to an overestimation of water demand. The corrected procedure results in lower demands for the categories drinking water (domestic and tourism), industry (second and third sector), and livestock. The corrected estimate for drinking households is 425 10~6 m³, the one for industry third sector 330 10~6 m³, the one for industry second sector 156 1 06 m3, the one for livestock feeding 13 10~6 m³, and the one for drinking tourism 5 10~6 m³. The estimates for all the other demand categories are not affected. The total annual water demand over all categories is thus 15,000 10~6 m³ instead of the 17,000 10~6 m³ reported in the published manuscript. The demand estimates in Figs. 4 and 5 were corrected accordingly (see below).
