CLEAR2018 Conference & SIL2018 Conference - Sediment internal processes and pollution remediation

摘要

Freshwater accounts for only 2.5% of the total water on earth. Only 0.29% of that freshwater is readily available for human use in rivers (2.0%), swamps (10.8%) and lakes (87.1%), while the majority is stored in glaciers and ice caps (68.7%), and ground water (30.1%). Lakes are particularly vulnerable to impacts of eutrophication and contamination. This special issue collects contributions that deal with assessing and mitigating impacts of anthropogenic releases of nutrients and organic and inorganic micropollutants. Most of these contributions were presented in dedicated special sessions on the 4th Conference on Contaminated Land, Ecological Assessment and Remediation (CLEAR2018, Hong Kong) and the 34th Congress of the International Society of Limnology (SIL2018, Nanjing, China).
