The ITER Project and Japan's Roles

In May 2006, the third ITER Minis terial Meeting in the Belgian city of Brussels saw the ITER Implementation Agreement initialed by seven parties, namely Japan, the European Union, the United States, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and India (see Photo). Following the resolution on the site of the ITER facility in June 2005, this event finalized the specific details of the cooperation framework and the ITER construction work is now about to begin in earnest.
