Biomass Plastics

Biomass plastics came to be recognized in Japan when Aichi Expo was held in 2005. Polylactate made from corn and-other materials is expected to yield enhanced performance and attract greatest demand.rnThe term "biomass plastics" refers to plastics containing organic source materials derived from plants or animals. Biomass is categorized into that derived from waste, unused materials and resource crops such as corn and sugarcane.rnUnlike coal, petroleum and other fossil fuels, biomass is renewable. Biomass derived from plants has the property of being carbon neutral, meaning that they do not generate carbon dioxide anew even when incinerated as the plants have absorbed carbon dioxide in the growth process. As such, they can help prevent global warming.
