Supplying Steam to 10 Factories from Thermal Power Station

The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc. (TEPCO) with two other companies that have factories located within the Chidori and Yako Industrial Complex (sited in one corner of Kawasaki Eco-Town) is pushing forward with a large-scale energy conservation project based upon re-use of steam from its Kawasaki Thermal power station Group 1 now undergoing renewal work.rnIn Japan industrial complexes, while using huge amounts of energy for production activities, have had the companies and factories therein have been promoting energy savings, but based on survey results this Industrial Complex foresees this project "making it possible to save energy by having multiple factories utilize together the steam supply" and is designated as a project under the Energy-use Rationalization Support Project by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
