Diversity Promotion - RIKEN's Initiatives

The Office of Diversity Promotion was established on December 1, 2016, based on a proposal submitted by RIKEN under MEXT's initiative to promote diversity in the research environment. The purpose of this government initiative is to "provide a supportive research environment giving consideration to life events and the work-life balance of female researchers, and to actively hire female researchers as well as to appoint them to higher ranking positions." However, at RIKEN, "diversity promotion" is not limited to female researchers.
