摘要

This is an excellent book for progressive public health and city planners who care about social and environmental justice issues. It comes out of the efforts of professionals in government - all too few in number - who work collaboratively with and learn from community-based environmental justice movements that are fighting for healthier living environments and against displacement by real estate developers. However, it does not question or go beyond the limitations of local reforms, nor does it challenge the systemic character of urban health problems under global capitalism today. It is written more for professionals and academics who engage activists than for the activists or others aiming for deeper transformations.
