In On Marx, Paula Allman has set about to accomplish the impossible: author a summative introduction to Marx and Marxism, relate them both to education, and do so in a popularly written monograph of approximately only 60 pages in length (as required by the series in which this book appears). In the introduction, and within the space of merely ten pages, Allman not only reviews Marx's biography, touching on some of the crucial aspects of his life; she also provides a remarkably short explanation of Marx's "dialectical conceptualization" and discusses what she sees as misinterpretations of Marx's thought.
