Research location: Where is research located in Canada? A Statistical approach

Using a framework for the systematic collection of statistics on science and technology that has been developed by the Science and Technology Redesign Project at Statistics Canada, this pa- Per will demonstrate the range of indicators that Can be used to describe the location of R & D, Examining both currently available statistical Indicators of the location of research and as- Sessing significant gaps in information in Can- Ada. The paper will also address the issue of the Determinants of the location of R & D.
