RP-HPLC METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF GLIPIZIDE IN PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORMS

A reverse phase high-pressure liquid chromatographic method (RP-HPLC) method has been described for the estimation of glipizide in its pharmaceutical formulations using cyano column. The mobile phase consisted of, methanol and buffer (equal volumes of 0.1% w/v ortho phosphoric acid +0.16% sodium di hydrogen phosphate, pH adjusted to 2.5). The detection was carried out at 230 nm and the linearity was found to be in range of 0.1 to 10 μg/mL. The method is simple, precise, specific, less time consuming and accurate for the estimation of Glipizide in Pharmaceutical dosage forms.
