STUDIES ON SOIL FERTILITY FOR ENHANCING CROP INTENSITY AT CHENGANNUR IN ALAPPUZHA, KERALA

摘要

The fast urbanization and industrialization in Kerala demands increase in crop intensity for the production of food grains. For this soil chemistry plays an important role for proper management of soil. Deficiency as well as excess amount of nutrients in the soil can retard the crop production. In the present study soil of selected wards in Chengannur thaluk in Alappuzha district of Kerala state is studied on a random sampling method and analyzed for physico chemical parameters such as bulk density, moisture content, pH and NPK values.
