摘要

The aim of the present study is to enhance the adsorption of methylene blue using the inexpensive abundantly available tapioca peel carbon. Micro waves and sulphuric acid were used for activation. Batch adsorption studies were carried out. Effect of contact time, adsorbent dosage, effect of concentration, effect of temperature and pH where carried out. First order Kinetics of the equilibrium were studied. Results of Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption Isotherms were determined.. . Thermodynamic parameters such as ΔH~0, ΔG~0 and ΔS~0 were calculated. The adsorbents were characterised using IR and SEM.
