摘要

Piezoceramics have gained importance due to its wide range of applications and ease of manufacture. Piezoceramics however lacks toughness and certain figures of merit like d_hg_h which is essential for transducer applications in the field of under water communication and biomedical applications. This article deals with the methods, which has been adopted by various research groups to overcome these drawbacks specially by modifying the ceramics into composites, viz. PZT-Polymer composites.
