Waste management for productive gain, historically, dates a long back. This was particularly true in the case of agricultural wastes, such as leftouts of post harvesting straws of rice and wheat, etc for making composts, also burnt into ashes that worked as good fertilizer. With the development of technologies, animal and vegetable wastes are now processed by microbes to produce oil and gas for fuel; sewage wastes are recycled to recover various matters, like valuable metal particles released from machine shops which are economically countable. In this context, utilization of animal byproducts through semi-moist rendering, no doubt, is a breakthrough. And, in that Mahendra Kumar, the author of "Animal Byproducts Utilization Through Semi-Moist Rendering", is a pioneer.
