“Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink", so said the mariner. - Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In fact, 3/4th of Earth's surface is full of water, but such water is not useful for human consumption. Water scarcity becomes a serious problem globally. Millions of people suffer every year for water shortages and millions also die of water-borne diseases as available water is mostly polluted. World Health Organization (WHO) once estimated that 80% of all diseases that people in rural India suffer from are due to polluted drinking water. Such is the situation in our conntrv even now.
