The book 'A Brief History of Rocketry in ISRO' is much more than the history of development of rocketry science in India. It not only presents the chronological history of events of development of rockets for space research in India but also its technical challenges, their solutions, successes and failures in such minute details that the book will be useful to anyone interested in space science. The book is also a repository of knowledge related to rocketry for aspirant researchers. Both the authors of the book PV Manoranjan Rao and P Radhakrishnan had been associated with space research from its very beginning. They have thus not only described the events of development of rockets in minute details but have also well captured the challenges and despairs behind the phenomenal success of India in about fifty years beginning from scratch. This makes the book more attractive.
