the AN/AVQ-26 Precision Avionics Vectoring Equipment (PAVE) Tack (PT) infrared laser designator pod was delivered on 24 September 1985 and eventually all F-111 Cs were so equipped.These 1,300-lb. pods were carried in the weapons bay on a rotating cradle, replacing the Vulcan cannon. In the cockpit, PAVE Tack required that the radarscope be replaced with the same virtual image display (VID) used by the F-1 IIF.TheVID had two small displays behind a large magnifying glass, allowing the navigator to view both the ARS and PT video at the same time.
