Things have gone a little quieter this month as they often do in the period between the buying frenzies that are Scale ModelWorld and Christmas, traditionally the show closed season allowing everyone to recuperate from one excess and prepare for the next. However there is some news. Firstly the Essex Model Show, unfortunately announced too late for inclusion in the show listing last month, has announced its date as Sunday 24th July.This is a fairly recent joint venture between four model clubs (IPMS South East Essex, IPMS Hornchurch, IPMS Chelmsford and MAFVA Essex) and the venue, as in previous years, will be Hannakins Farm Community Centre, Rosebay Avenue, Billericay, Essex, CM 12 OSZ. Secondly you may have noticed from the listing last month that Stoke-on-Trent Model Club have moved their date for a third and final time to Sunday 20th March and are likely to stay with this slot i.e. they will be the same weekend as Southern Expo in the future.The venue remains unchanged.The organisers believe that holding their show the same weekend as Southern Expo will afford them some protection from other larger and closer shows which seems to Show Dragon to be pretty clever reasoning. Let's hope it proves to be the case.
