Sometimes you need to keep cool

There is no doubt that immersion suits can make a huge difference to the survival chances of somebody in the water. Even in relatively warm water, hypothermia can become a killer surprisingly quickly as body core temperature starts cooling to the low 30s Celsius. Like other pieces of safety equipment, however, the suits need to be used intelligently and wearers need to understand the dangers not only of getting too cold but also of overheating.
