Are you ready for the SSAS deadline?

As of 1 July this year all vessels over 500gt must have an SSAS (Ships Security Alert System). As this SOLAS regulation has been introduced in tiers, those that SASI spoke to within the industry believe there are very few vessels sailing without an SSAS. But there are some and as Claire Dickinson marketing manager for SSAS provider, Satamatics, told SASI, "It seems that vessels that have not yet complied with the regulations are now looking at doing so as we have seen a substantial increase in our sales and enquires over the last month or so."
