Santos pirates break into container ships

Federal police in the Brazilian port of Santos are investigating a gang of "hooded pirates" who have been sneaking on to container ships before dawn and stealing goods before leaving the vessels undetected. One of the most recent robberies took place at the beginning of November. The gang -eight-strong on this occasion -invaded the Liberian-flagged HS Chopin, broke into 30 containers and removed thousands of dollars' worth of goods, mostly chemical products.
