If the cap fits wear it, goes the old saying. And the same rule might well apply to gloves - unless they happen to part of an immersion suit. Recent tests have shown that some gloves are far better at performing nautical chores than others.rnThe answer seems to lie in the grip. For tests show that gripped gloves generally work well, while ungripped ones are often all but useless. Nigel Parkes, design manager of Crewsaver, suggests the key test is whether a crew member can pick up an average-sized pencil and then write with it.
