Thirty years ago seafarer Will Septimus wrote an article in SASI about Rust Buckets, Past and Present. In it he fondly remembers some of the "old crates" that he came across during his life at sea. One such vessel was a old twin-screw coal-burning steamer which is said to have served valiantly during two world wars and "continued sailing into the peace of the late Forties," and was recognisable by its "port list".
