Sold progress for FP

摘要

Participants at last month's 52nd session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Fire Protection (FP) worked on a wide range of highly technical issues. While there were no major initiatives, a series of minor changes together represented significant progress in countering the risk of fire at sea. Guidelines for the approval of fixed-pressure water-spraying and water-based fire-extinguishing systems for cabin balconies were finalised. Once approved by the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) these guidelines will complete IMO's response to the March 2006 fire on Star Princess.
