A good design for the bridge, in theory

The July issue of Safety at Sea International included a thought-provoking article on the bridge design of the future ['Six steps to a better bridge'].rnThe picture used to illustrate the article looks very nice, but we seem to have done away with the chart table, the log book and all the other paraphernalia that we carry on the bridge, such as the gong for fog signals, deepsea lead, flags and the other myriad log books.
