Cruising casualty concerns

I fully agree with the report 'Casualties on the rise' (SASI, Feb, p5), especially with the final sentence: "The average size of the fleet will continue to grow, with maybe fewer but bigger accidents."rnThe objective of the IMO is to develop international legislationrnconcerning the safety of life at sea. We have witnessed an enormous amount of newbuildings, especially cruise vessels that are capable of accommodating between 3,000-7,000 people, crew included.
