Maritime teacher-training institute proposed

Maritime training and education institution association GlobalMET has presented a proposal to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines, for a maritime teacher-training institute to serve the Asia-Pacific region. The association's executive secretary, Rod Short, told SAS that the proposals were well received. "We now have to formulate a more detailed project document, the intention being to meet the ADB again in mid-November," he said. The Philippines supplies about 28% of the world's seafarers.
