Aquata offers immersion suit alternatives

As ship operators around the world adapt to the straitened economic climate, Germany-based immersion suit manufacturer aquata has released eco-line versions of its successful AROV20 and AROV200P suits. Made from 5.5 mm synthetic rubber and covered by a heavy-duty nylon-polyester material in a bright, visible colour, the V20 Eco and V20OP Eco models fulfil all SOLAS requirements for six-hour immersion suits. Ingo Pannischky, aquata's head of global sales, explained that while the new suits may be cheaper, they maintain a high standard. "It's still German quality and control, even produced in Bangkok, Thailand, because it's our own factory," he said. "The suits still have a very weight cut, which allows the wearer to don the suit in less than two minutes, with full, heavy-weather clothes. No jacket or trousers or boots need be taken off."
