Chinese dredger sinks off Fujian coast

A Chinese dredger capsized on 30 March, west of the Xiquan (also known as Xiju) Island off Fujian coast, with all 13 crew members on board believed lost. The 137 m-long and 6,426 gt dredger, identified as Zhen He 168, capsized around 0440 hours on 30 March, according to a Fujian Maritime Safety Administration statement on 1 April. At 1720 hours, local authorities received a report of the accident and started rescue operations. The Donghai Rescue Bureau despatched rescue ships Dong Hai Jiu 113 and Dong Hai Jiu 195 as well as patrol boat Huaying 393.
