Australian Federal Court marshals on 14 April arrested Maltese-flagged coal bulk carrier Pounda on behalf of ING Bank. The arrest took place off Port Kembla in New South Wales after officials landed by helicopter on the deck of the vessel. Pounda is the ninth vessel to be arrested this year and the 32nd arrest made since July 2015, according to federal court records. Travelling from China, Pounda was scheduled to arrive in Port Kembla on 18 April and depart for Hay Point in Queensland on 19 April. It will now remain at anchor until the matter is settled. The 91,373 gt vessel is security in a USD589,000-plus-interest claim for unpaid bunker fuel supplied in October last year. The arrest warrant was issued in New South Wales, where the proceedings are based.
