摘要

Shipping companies have been warned by financial services provider ShipMoney that they are paying unnecessarily high costs by continuing to pay seafarers with cash. Greg O'Connell, executive vice-president at ShipMoney, said that on an average fleet of 50 ships, shipping operators could spend nearly USD500,000 delivering cash to vessels. According to the company, more than USD6 billion in hard currency is delivered to the global merchant fleet each year.
