Videotel launches hazmat course

Ensuring the safe handling of hazardous materials (hazmat) is the subject of the latest course from UK-based distance learning specialist Videotel, which is part of KVH Industries. The training is designed to enable crew and shipping office staff to become familiar with the rules governing the carriage of hazardous materials. These are specified in three places: the US Code of Federal Regulations, Subchapter C of 49 CFR; the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code produced by the IMO; and in the relevant parts of Section B-V/c of the STCW Code.
